Having two separate pieces means I can position the back cushion exactly where I need it. I moved it a little lower than center and it hits just right for my lumbar. That kind of adjustability really matters.

the cover feels soft but not in a way that feels flimsy, and it doesnt get weirdly hot like some foam cushions do in the summer. stayed comfortable on a long drive through some pretty warm weather.
