what i really noticed is that the water actually stays consistently warm, not scalding, just enough that it doesn't ice over. my dogs go to it just as normal as they would any bowl, no hesitation.
One thing I appreciate is that it doesn't run hot on the outside of the bowl. I touched it once just to check and it was just slightly warm, not enough to worry about. My dogs drink from it all day without any issues 🐾 🎉

i like that the bowl itself feels sturdy. it's not flimsy plastic that tips over when my bigger dog puts his paws on the edge. sits solid on the ground and the water stays thawed even when it's well below freezing outside.
the steel wrapped cord on this is a nice touch. i just noticed it when i was plugging it in and thought, yeah, that makes sense for outdoors where animals are walking around it all day.
Does the job. Easy to wipe clean. Happy with it.

my last heated bowl had a totally exposed cord and my dog chewed right through it within a few weeks. this one has the steel wrapped cord so he can't get to it the same way. haven't had a single issue since switching.
The steel wrapped cord sits pretty flat along the ground and doesn't seem to bother my cats when they walk past it. It's a small detail but it clearly went into the design with outdoor use in mind.
