GOOD LITTLE TOOL TO HAVE IN THE CAR!
My last gauge from a different brand would constantly misread on aluminium panels and I had no idea if I was measuring ferrous or non-ferrous metal. This one detects it automatically, so I never have to think about it. Switched over and haven't looked back 😍.
SO GLAD I GOT THIS 🚗!
Simple, effective, does what it says.
Bought this after getting burned on a used car years ago with hidden bodywork. Now I check everything before handing over money. This thing has already paid for itself.
The FE and NFE auto detection is genuinely useful. I measured a car last week with mixed steel and aluminium panels and just moved from one to the next without changing any settings. It recognised each surface on its own and gave me the reading straight away 😊.
What I like is how quick each measurement is. You press it to the panel, it beeps, and the number is right there. No waiting around, no second-guessing. Makes checking a full car feel fast rather than like a chore.
It feels well balanced in the hand. The probe tip is solid and doesn't wobble, which I think helps with getting consistent contact on the panel. Small thing but it makes a difference when you're taking a lot of readings.
I was worried it would struggle on curved panels or edges, since cheaper gauges I've seen reviews of seem to lose accuracy there. Tested it all over the car, flat sections, wheel arches, door edges, and it holds up really well across all of them.
the display is easy to read even outside in direct sunlight, which matters a lot when you're looking over a car on a driveway. Some gauges I've seen people use look washed out in bright light. Not this one.

Told my mate to grab one of these when he started buying and flipping used cars. He was worried it would give inconsistent readings depending on where on the panel you probe. Been using it for a while now and says the readings are solid and repeatable every time.
Accurate and easy to use. Does the job without any complications.
Honestly the auto detection just works. I use it on all kinds of panels, steel doors, aluminium bonnets, mixed bodywork, and it figures out the material itself without me doing anything. No fuss.
Really pleased with it. Compact enough to keep in the glovebox so it's always there when I need it at a forecourt.
Really happy with this. Checked a used car before buying and found some suspicious readings on the rear quarter that the seller hadn't mentioned. Saved me from a bad purchase.
