Had one of those basic gel cushions before and it would bunch up to one side every time I shifted. This sits flat and the foam actually contours where it should. Way better experience overall.

The L-shape design is doing something the flat ones couldn't. It supports your tailbone and lower back at the same time instead of just cushioning one or the other. After a long drive I noticed I wasn't as stiff getting out of the car.
The memory foam takes a second to respond when you first sit down and then just molds to you. You can feel it adjusting. For long drives that makes a real difference compared to sitting on a rigid surface.
My last car seat cushion was just flat foam that compressed into nothing after a few weeks. This one actually holds its shape because of the L-shaped insert. Still feels just as supportive as the day I got it.

What I noticed right away is how the L-shape wraps up the back as well as supporting the seat. It's not just a flat pad, it actually fills in the space between my lower back and the seat which is exactly where I needed it.
